On December 23, 1991, a group of female applicants and employees filed a lawsuit under [statute] against Oxnard Lemon Associates, Ltd. in the Central District of California, Western Division. The plaintiffs, represented by private counsel, asked the Court for declaratory and injunctive relief, claiming that Oxnard Lemon discriminated against female applicants and employees. According to various articles about this case, the plaintiff claimed that the company implemented discriminatory practices in the areas of hiring, hours-allocation, promotion, and access to training.
