On December 16th, 1994, the United States Department of Justice ("DOJ") filed an employment discrimination lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona against the City of Phoenix. The parties conducted discovery until August 15th, 1995, when the plaintiff and defendant entered a joint motion for approval of a settlement agreement. On August 30th, 1995, the District Court (Judge Paul G. Rosenblatt) issued an order terminating the case.
